![]() “Sherry Darling” is played with an extra oomph as the finish line (and those girls down the beach) becomes closer in sight while “Jackson Cage” and “Independence Day” are once again the stand outs of this opening courtesy of such pronounced efforts from Bruce and the Band. Setting for the tone for a night full of intensity and exuberance with that determined duo of “Meet Me in the City” and “The Ties That Bind,” the first sequence flows in very fine fashion. So it’s rather an incredible testament to their perennial commitment and ever improving quality that they manage to overjoy us with these twenty album tracks again. Just how excited can those onstage leave us here before they head off to Brooklyn?Īfter thirty-four full album performances, raising the bar at this stage of the tour is easier said than done, and I expect that even those onstage had been searching for extra motivation in the build up to this night in Baltimore. With no major setlist surprises, once again we’re left looking at the quality of performance in this one. Riding the wave of strong showings in Kansas City, Columbus, Auburn Hills and University Park in Pennsylvania, Bruce and the Band arrive in Baltimore’s Royal Farms Arena now needing to raise the bar even higher for their grand finales in New York. leg of The River Tour 2016 and we’re in the penultimate city that Springsteen and the E Street Band will be playing before this stage concludes.
